A Safe Place
Offers a comprehensive program that provides both shelter and professional support services for battered women and their children, including individual and peer group counseling. They also have a 24-hour crisis and shelter referral and information line.

Building Futures with Women and Children
Provides a full continuum of emergency and support services to battered women in Alameda County, including those suffering from homelessness, substance abuse, and/or mental illness. In addition to shelters, BFWC offers support groups and advocacy.

Tri-Valley Haven for Women
Provides shelter and counseling for battered women and their children, a 24-hour crisis line, and operates the only rape crisis center in the Tri-Valley area. Services include a food pantry, life skills education classes for homeless families, and community education and violence prevention programs.

Legal Assistance
Alameda County Bar Association
Offers a lawyer referral service, in addition to their Volunteer Legal Services Corporation (VLSC). VLSC provides free legal assistance to low-income residents in Alameda County in the areas of family law, immigration and debt collection. Spanish-speaking intakes are available every Wednesday from 1-3.

Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach
Provides free and sliding-scale legal services to the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in more than a dozen languages and dialects including Cantonese, Chiu-Chow, Hindi, Ilocano, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, Tagalog, Taiwanese, Urdu, and Vietnamese. Their practice is currently focused in the areas of family law/domestic violence, immigration and immigrant rights, senior law/elder abuse, trafficking, and civil rights.

Bay Area Legal Aid (BayLegal)
The largest provider of free civil legal services in the Bay Area, BayLegal has seven regional offices that work together to provide high quality legal assistance to low-income people regardless of their location, language, or disability. Staff attorneys speak Mandarin, Spanish, Cantonese and Vietnamese. BayLegal is uniquely positioned to help people across county lines. They assist people in the areas of housing, public benefits, health access, and domestic violence.

Teen Crisis Line
Covenant House is the largest privately-funded childcare agency in the United States providing shelter and service to homeless and runaway youth. In addition to food, shelter, clothing and crisis care, Covenant House provides a variety of services to homeless youth including health care, education, vocational preparation, drug abuse treatment and prevention programs, legal services, recreation, mother/child programs, transitional living programs, street outreach and aftercare. Their crisis line offers referrals for a variety of situations.
